I win *_*

I was walking pass a toy shop during lunch and decided to go check it out. Entering the shop immediately brought back so many memories of me being a kid. There were hula-hoops, bubbles, cooking set, wooden horses, marbles and so many more exciting toys. Then I came to the board games section, ahh my favourite! Hidden on the left of the shelf was a box of Dominoes. I remembered the times me and my mum used to spend our evenings first with a game of badminton and then a few games of Dominoes. I knew I had to get it. The ones I got weren’t the typical old skool ones. This one had colours ( ;

I also got DoobieBaby a pressie (so I call it). I got him a few Spiderman comics. He has been collecting these comics since he was a kid. He was more thrilled with the comic than my dominoes. But I still managed to squeeze a few games while watching footie! Haha.

I Will Survive

First I was afraid
I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live
without you by my side
But I spent so many nights
thinking how you did me wrong
I grew strong
I learned how to carry on
and so you're back
from outer space
I just walked in to find you here
with that sad look upon your face
I should have changed my stupid lock
I should have made you leave your key
If I had known for just one second
you'd be back to bother me

Go on now go walk out the door
just turn around now
'cause you're not welcome anymore
weren't you the one who tried to hurt me with goodbye
you think I'd crumble
you think I'd lay down and die
Oh no, not I
I will survive
as long as i know how to love
I know I will stay alive
I've got all my life to live
I've got all my love to give
and I'll survive
I will survive

It took all the strength I had
not to fall apart
kept trying hard to mend
the pieces of my broken heart
and I spent oh so many nights
just feeling sorry for myself
I used to cry
Now I hold my head up high
and you see me
somebody new
I'm not that chained up little person
still in love with you
and so you felt like dropping in
and just expect me to be free
now I'm saving all my loving
for someone who's loving me

Q’s Big fat Greek birthday party!

Today, Kyumah is 26. She has been saying “I am 26 on the 26th!” so last night about 20 of us went to this Greek restaurant called Hellenic Greek Tavern for dinner. It was fantastic. Everything about it was really special – for me at least. It was a 3 course meal which was pretty good I must say. Then came the shots and the dancing after. Finally, out came the plates. YES YES YES !! Even DoobieBaby thought I was hyper. But I was .. I have always wanted to break plates and scream out Wopa.. haha .. And finally, my wish came true..ahhhh ...

The other reason why I enjoyed the night was because the ambiance was absolutely comforting. It’s like a family owned restaurant, and everyone there was friendly and nice. There was live music too. The owner stopped by every dinner table and chatted with them. Nice.

After that, we headed out to the White Lion and danced the night away!

This morning, after about 4 hours of sleep, I headed out to my sisters to celebrate my bro-in-laws birthday lunch. I did my famous fried beehoon and baked chicken drumsticks. There was mango salad, sweet potato, cakes and deserts. Plus, it was a gorgeous day. We put up our canopy and ate out side enjoying the weather. Hmmm

Now I’m here, watching Britains Got Talent. Gonna sleep soon. It was a good weekend!

NiteNite peeps ((=

The Big Bang!

Who created the world? Or might I say, what do you think happened? Religious people will of coz say that God created it and non believers will blame it on the big bang. This was our topic of discussion last night. I came up with so many theories and so did DoobieBaby. I love sitting in the sofa, talking about interesting stuff and exchanging ideas.

Anyways, coming back to our existence, this can be a very sensitive issue but an interesting one to tackle. I am not saying that I don’t believe in God coz I do. But if god created Adam and Eve, and they started to populate, does that mean every one of us are related to each other? Does that mean I am marrying my long lost cousin? We were always told that god created man. So, who created dinosaurs coz I know for sure it was not put here to feed mankind!

What if existence is just one big circle – no start no end. What about evolution? Oh my god, this topic can go on forever and ever.

I am still wondering about it...

I saw a pure white deer today while driving to work. Every other one was brown except this gorgeous white one.

Small and Cosy Wedding PLEASE !!!

Ok so I thought yesterday was the worst day of my life ... hmm well, not really, TODAY is !! bloody hell. Remember I said planning a wedding is not easy, well planning a wedding can be hell at times, especially when everyone tries to get involved ( for all the wrong reasons ).

I called back home, you know, for the usual chat and updates. Spoke to dad about the guest list and the wedding invitation and everything went smoothly. Then my mum came to the phone. It started off well but ended with me just hanging up. I know it’s really bad but I had too. Else it would have got worst.

I just want a small wedding – with close family and friends. My mum wants a big fat Indian wedding. GOD!! The argument started with the invitation. She was already not happy with the amount of cards I am giving her, and then it went to who would you chose and who you would not. So I asked her one question, how many friends and family have you seen or even spoken to in the last 6 months? It can’t be 600 people!! So there you go, easy way to chose. Another thing is, the wedding is on a Sunday, and not many people will come from far away anyways. There are so many ways to go about this – but she fails to understand. So this argument got heated up (after I told her I do not want to see a few people’s faces in my wedding) lol .. and I just hung up the phone.

So I gave myself another 30 minutes to cool down and gave her a call again. This time the call did not last that long. She hung up after like 10 minutes.UUGGHHHHH!!! She can be really difficult at times. I know she wants the best for me, but she has to understand that I want a small cosy wedding.

As usual, I called my sister and told her to call my mum and patch things up. But my mum didn’t complain about me to her about me.. hehe .. So, I must be RIGHT ! Sorry ma, I know I can be a pain at times but this is something I really want.

Work is getting really frustrating now. My boss is a total %^&$. I am going to leave it at that.

Time to change

* Here's to a job that pays the rent *

What happend to good ol' job satisfaction eh?

I officially HATE Mondays

Ahahhahaha ...MU lost to Everton in pens. Ok I’m not supposed to be happy like this out loud coz it’s my baby’s favourite team. But really, no offence to him, I absolutely hate them. I have been hating since I was like 10. I must admit there are a few good players in that team, but overall – I don’t like them. Even the manager chewing his gum all the time irritates the hell outta me!

We met up with Yomi & Zoey in The Cork in Welwyn Garden City to watch the match. After that, we headed to my sister’s to pass them some Aloe stuff. It was supposed to be a 30 minute visit but ended up being a 5 hour visit. Tsk tsk tsk.. We started talkin and one thing lead to another – it was 11 pm and it was bedtime as I had work the next day.

We finally “kinda” finalised the wedding cards and also the menu for both, the Christian and the Indian wedding. I really hope people take the trouble to RSVP and not just turn up coz I am setting tables exactly for the amount of RSVPed family and friends. I mean, I’m not trying to be rude here but I just hope people be considered enough to make my life easier!

The final topic for the day was kids. So I was asked how many kids I wana have in the future? Well, for ages now I have always wanted a pair of twins. But lately I have been thinkin about life, marriage, kids and the whole deal. Having a child is like a lifetime commitment – it’s not something you can give away when you are bored nor something you can just throw away if you don’t want it no more. From the minute you find out your pregnant, you will be extra cautious in everything you do. Then the baby comes out and you will still be worried if what you are doing is right or wrong. Would you ever know that ultimate correct way to bring up a child? I don’t think so. You just got to try your best. My sister was saying that even your kid is 50 years old, she or he is still your KID! – and parents will never stop worrying. NEVER she says. OhMyGod – then why the hell would I want such a responsibility? A responsibility that will be with me till the day I die.

Hmm I guess that’s the circle of life ...

A random pic which was taken in Wales - i love this pic ( ;

My first Nigerian Wedding

I woke up at 5am today to get ready for my first Nigerian wedding in Barrow, somewhere near Lancaster. This is my second time wearing the Nigerian traditional suit but what was new was, this time I wore the full head gear as well. It was bloody brilliant! It took ages to get it right but once I tied it properly, I didn’t come out for a few hours. Love it. Kyumah was there as well – helping me all the way to blend in.

I learnt so many things today, the culture, the music, the dancing and the people. It was somewhat like an Indian wedding – like about a few hundred people, all wearing so many different coloured outfits with tons of food for all. The groom’s side ladies all wore purple head gear and the bride’s side wore blue. This is to differentiate who is from which family. The decoration in the hall was also coordinated with these 2 colours. The wedding ceremony was held in a church – after that everyone went to this hall for the reception. The couple walked in while they were playing a Nigerian song, dancing all the way to their seats. People were dancing around them and throwing money (as in sticking money) on the couple’s body and head. This is a way of celebrating the newly wed. The whole atmosphere was buzzing with everyone having fun, especially the oldies. I love the way they shake their bum and dance. Haha

Hopefully I can experience the same thing when I go to Nigeria next, as a bride. I have spoken to a few cousins from there and they are all excited for me and DoobieBaby to go visit them. Unfortunately it’s really hard for them to come to Malaysia for the wedding due to visa restrictions. It’s a shame, but what can you do eh?

Anyways, personally, the only downside for me was the food. They had many dishes with beef. Yuck! And the supposedly vegetarian fried rice had beef in it! They even had something with beef stomach. Uugghhh. Totally lost my appetite ) :

I just reached home after a 4 hour drive. So tiring and I didn’t even drive! Pity him.

Nite nite ( ;
