Nutrition made easy

Today was an interesting day. I was introduced to a product called Reliv. Well, it’s not any ordinary product but it’s actually a supplement. They say its nutrition made easy! Well I do feel really tired with my routine nowadays – it’s gotten worst now! Imagine snoozing your phone like 5 times before you wake up to go to work.. haha ..that’s me ((=

I met this couple who have been taking these supplements for the past 6 weeks now and it’s changed their life so much. They seem healthier, more alert and their skin condition has improved to. Being the sceptical me, I did check what is actually in these products – and the results were brilliant. No artificial preservative uses Soy, filled with antioxidents, vegetarian and even Halal! http://www.reliv.com/UK/EN/Nutrition.html But think about it, if it’s in a shop, you buy it, but you get scared when someone tells you to buy it. Why not try when you have proof right in front of you?

I am not gonna go on and on about this product until I try this product. If I see a difference, then I will get one for my mum as well. Hopefully it works! And if it does work, I will share it with everyone I know.

Black Pepper Chicken with kids anyone?

No I didn’t have any kids for dinner. 2 different stories. The area I live at is filled with kids. Really, 1 family has like 4 to 5 kids..OhMyGod! I mean, first of all, why would you have 5 kids especially in these times. Can you afford to give them the best? Do you even have time to take care of all 5? Obviously not! Your 9 year old was taking care of all the little ones!!uugghhh! I mean, don’t get me wrong, I come from a family of 5 too. But we were brought up with discipline, we were thought good and bad and also sometimes smacked ! Here in the UK, kids sue their parents for doing so. I saw a 3 year old swearing at his mum and the mum didn’t do anything. She didn’t even tell him not to speak that way. God. Do you remember the last time you swore at your mum and she let you go?

Anyways, bottom line is, I don’t care if you wana have even 10 kids, as long as you don’t let them run around like monkeys when I am trying to park my car! You let them roam around as they wish and it becomes my fault when I run over one! Okok ..I’m not being mean nor saying its ok to run them over. Just that you keep your kids on your side of the road and I will keep my car on my side. Deal ?

Now coming back to something more interesting - it’s been a long time since I cooked black pepper chicken. I love it.

1 Finely chopped onion, garlic, ginger and some chillies, 1 star anise, some cinnamon
500g chicken
1 medium tomato - chopped
Mix veggie (baby corn, carrots, sometimes I even put potatoes)
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 tablespoon Dark Soy Sauce
1 teaspoon black pepper
½ teaspoon white pepper
1 tablespoon rice wine
A few drops of sesame oil
Coriander – chopped finely

Fry the onion,garlic,ginger and chillies. Add the chicken and tomatoes – stir fry for 30 seconds, then add all the sauce and add half a glass of water. Taste and add salt or pepper accordingly. Once the chicken is cooked, add the mix veggie (if you want to add the potato, then do it when you add the chicken). Let it cook for another 2 minutes, finally add the coriander. 1 more minute and it’s done.

Have it with steamed rice and cut cucumbers.

Desert anyone?

Banoffie Pie

For the base: 175g ginger biscuits, 65g butter, 9 inches fluted flan tin

The middle: 100g butter, 100g light muscovado sugar, 2 x 400g can of condensed milk

For the topping: 300ml double cream, 1 large banana, lemon juice and chocolate for grating on top.

For the base, break the biscuits really fine, add melted 65g butter. Mix well and press it on the base of the flan tin to make it firm. Place a layer of banana on this base.

The filling (middle) – Gently heat butter and sugar till melted; add 2 tins of condensed milk. Stir continuously and evenly. Once the mixture has thickened and turns into golden toffee colour (about 5 minutes or so) pour into prepared crumb crust and leave to set.

For the topping – whip double cream until it holds its shape (or if you are lazy, just get a can of whipped cream).spread it evenly over the toffee mixture. Put some slices of banana (soak in the lemon juice to maintain its colour) on top and grate some chocolate on top!

Well to be honest, this desert was too sweet for me. I even used light condensed milk! Oh well, next time I will try and make it less sweet.

Undefeated UNO Champion ( ;

I was ready to take part in Vote Earth day! Even DoobieBaby sacrificed his play station time and was up for it. I ordered some take away, took out the Uno cards and got my candles ready.

It was just brilliant. Me and him just sat in the candle light listening to some music (from his phone), playing Uno and occasionally nibbling on some jalapeƱo cheese bites. It was just so peaceful to have some quiet time where you spend quality time getting to know each other better. Oh not to forget am the ultimate UNO champion! Haha ..

One of the first songs we listened to was Day Dreams by Lupe Fiasco. It was just perfect!

VOTE EARTH

8:30PM local time, wherever you live on planet earth. Saturday 28 March 2009

http://www.earthhour.org/about/ <= check it out

So I will be doing this as well. Turn off electricity for 1 hour. That can’t be hard can it? Think of all the people around the world that has to ration this. Just another day for them. I personally know someone who had his showers using the moonlight for many years. So if it’s a full moon, its party else you are in total darkness. Imagine taking your shower in a small hut, and all you have is a plank to stand on and most of the time you get insects partying on your plank ....EEEUUUU .. Now because of his childhood, he has become a man i look up to. A man my family looks up to. A man who my friends look up to. ( ;

I guess sitting in your comfy homes without electricity for one hour is a walk in the park. So let’s all do it! 1 person can make a change!

Weird rite?Geez.

On another note, I cooked Deep Fried Red Snapper with mix veggie for dinner tonight. It was good. The fish was cooked in the middle and crispy on the sides. And the hot sauce gave it a zing! Have it with some Basmati white rice. Go on, Give it a try ( ;

Red snapper fillet – coat with flour + salt + pepper

I large onion - chopped

5 garlic pods – chopped finely

1 tomato – chopped

Half chopped lemon grass

1 red chilli – chopped finely (I used 3 coz I like it spicy!)

Some curry leaves (don’t worry if you don’t have it) and abit of mustard seeds

2 tablespoon of chilli sauce

2 tablespoon of oyster sauce

2 tablespoon of black soya sauce

Handful of chopped prawns

However much veggie you want (baby corn, cauliflower, carrots, broccoli) – all cut small

Fry the fish fillet and keep aside. Heat 2 tablespoon of oil, add onion, garlic, lemon grass, red chilli, curry leaves and prawns, fry till you think its rite, add chilli, oyster and black soya sauce. Add 3 tablespoon of water and add the veggie. Stir fry for about 2 minutes.

Finally pour sauce over the fish. Done !!

Heard in the radio today, people can pay £3 if they didn’t want to wait in the queue (like in banks, post office) and wanted fast service, they will be served immediately. My question is what if everyone pays? What if you let people who are in a rush go first? I say let’s do whatever it takes but pay them more!!!uugghhh!!
